Elsie Lucile Woodward Harper left this earth on October 26, 2025, at Mesilla Valley Hospice, in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She was a beautiful age of 100 well on her way to 101 in November.

Elsie was born in Chouteau Oklahoma on November 12, 1924. She came to New Mexico to be with her father long after the early death of her mother. She grew up in Anthony, New Mexico, where she met and married Alfred David (Jake) Woodward.

They raised three boys Johnny Clarence (Linda), Stanley Lynn (Kathy) and Shelby Forrest deceased (Edona), in the valley farming from Hatch to Pecos and also Anthony.

Elsie was known for her cooking skills, especially baking pies. Pecan, Chocolate, Coconut, and Lemon. Her abilities to make homemade salsa, and enchiladas with fresh red sauce was beyond anyone's in the valley, we as a family knew. Her love of her boys was her number one passion.
