It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Eliza Benavidez on November 29, 2024. She was born on August 6, 1964 in Las Cruces to Amelia and Martin Benavidez.
Eliza was a devoted mother to her two sons. Her love for them was immeasurable. She was their biggest supporter, always there to offer guidance, encouragement, and unconditional love. Her sons were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
One of Eliza's greatest joys was watching her grandchildren perform ballet folklorico. Her heart swelled with pride as she watched them dance, their vibrant costumes and graceful movements. These performances were precious to her, and she treasured every moment.
Eliza also cherished the time she spent with her mom and her sisters. Whether they were sharing stories, laughing together, or simply enjoying each other's company, these moments were a source of great comfort and happiness for her. The bond she shared with her mom and sisters was unbreakable, and their love for each other was evident to all who knew them.
Those left to mourn her include her mother Amelia, sons Martin Garcia and Oscar Garcia III, brothers Martin Benavidez Jr., Nicanor Benavidez(Maria), and Daniel Benavidez, sisters Anna McCoy(Eppy), Esther Ordunez(Albert), Isabel Poindexter(Christopher), and Christine Legarda(Erik). She also leaves grandchildren Trinity Garcia, Ameraya Garcia, Elias Garcia, Alaina Garcia, Anthony Garcia and honorary grandchild Yaritza Gillyard, and goddaughter Amber Kiser(Brian).
She was preceded in death by her father Martin, maternal grandparents Estanislado and Enriqueta Jacquez and paternal grandparents Andres and Dorotea Benavidez.
