On Thursday October 8, 2026, Elisa passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

Elisa was born on April 17, 1936. She was 90 years old. She married the love of her life, Paul Prado, on January15, 1959 and they were happily married for 42 years until his passing on September 8, 2001.

Elisa had three children, Raymond, Carmen, and Christopher. She had two grandchildren, Victoria and Louis, five great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.

Elisa weas one of nine children. She was the last of her siblings and her generation. She is still survived by her sisters-in-law Doris Ruiz of Salt Lake City, Utah and Evangelina Carrillo of Phoenix, Arizona. These are the only two remaining members from the Ruiz and Prado families.

Elisa lived a long life and was always a happy person. She was loved by everyone who knew her.

A prayer vigil will be held on Thursday October 15, 2026 at Baca’s Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road. Visitation will begin at 05:00 P.M. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be presided by the Catholic Daughters at 06:00 P.M. and the Funeral Liturgy will be at 06:30 P.M. Cremation will follow and inurnment will be at a later date.

Elisa will surely be missed by all her family, friends, and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
