Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend, ELISA LUCERO BANEGAS, lifelong resident of Las Cruces entered eternal life on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Memorial Medical Center at the age of 92.  She was born March 15, 1932, to Petra Solis and Juan Lucero. A loving devout homemaker and member of the Roman Catholic Church.

Those left to mourn her passing include her loving children; son, Benny L. Banegas and daughter, Emily B. Wilson (Keith) all of Las Cruces; two brothers, Lawrence Lucero also of Las Cruces and Eddie R. Lucero (Linda) of Medford, OR., sister, Tina Galindo of Tucson, AZ. Other survivors include four grandchildren, David Wilson (Krista), Samantha Wilson, Sean Wilson (Maddie) and Bengie Banegas; four great-grandchildren, KayLeigh, Kasen, Karsyn, and Kira Wilson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. Ms. Banegas was preceded in death by her parents, and her loving husband, Bennie C. Banegas.

The Prayer Vigil will begin at 9:30 AM Friday, May 10, 2024, at St. Genevieve Catholic Church, 100 S. Espina Street with the Funeral Mass to be celebrated thereafter. At her request cremation will follow and Inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date.

Serving as casket bearers will be David and Sean Wilson, Randy Galaz, Chad Nevarez, Ernest "Nicho" Banegas, and Justin Lyle.
