In Loving Memory of EDWARD "LALO" VILLEGAS
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and husband, Edward "Lalo" Villegas, 73, of Doña Ana. Lalo passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026, surrounded by his devoted family.
Lalo was born on January 11, 1953, to Samuel and Emilia Villegas. He was an amazing provider for his family and a hardworking man who dedicated 43 years of service as a mechanic with NASA before retiring. He enjoyed hunting with his sons, camping with family and friends, and spending time at the casino. He also liked trying his luck playing the lottery. He will be fondly remembered for his delicious cooking, especially his famous red chile and meat. Lalo was also a dedicated Dallas Cowboys fan who rarely missed a game.
Lalo is survived by his children, Edward "JR" Villegas and Veronica Vanegas (husband Russell); his five grandchildren, Eric and Kyle Vanegas, Thomas and Trevor Sanchez, and Xavier Sanchez. He is also survived by his siblings, Sammy Villegas (wife Inez), Charles Villegas, Karen Silva (husband Carlos), and Jessie Villegas.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Beatrice "Bea" Villegas; his parents, Samuel and Emilia Villegas; his brother, Joe Villegas; his sister, Shirley Mae Villegas; his nephew, Gary Villegas; and his son, Tommy Sanchez.
Lalo's memory will forever live, in the hearts of those who were truly blessed to know and love him.
A memorial service celebrating Lalo's beautiful life will be held at Baca's Funeral Chapel 300 E. Boutz Road on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 2 PM.
