Edward Lucero Maese passed away peacefully on April 9, 2026. He was born in Mesilla on September 28, 1929 to Estanislao Maese and Anita Lucero Maese.

Edward is survived by his three children, Sylvia Fierro (David), Oscar Paul Maese (Consuelo), and Jo Anna Maese; Six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren all of whom he loved and treasured. He is also survived by his sisters Esperanza Gomez and Minerva Maese; his brothers Elias Maese, Hector Maese and Armando Maese.

He is preceded in death by his wife Virginia Maese, son John E. Maese, his parents, his sisters Elodia Gater and Gloria Maese and his brother Roberto Maese.

A rosary and prayer vigil will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday May 4, 2026 at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road. Inurnment and rite of committal will conclude at the San Albino Cemetery in Mesilla.
