Edelvira (Vira) Molina (Terrazas) passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025, surrounded by her family at the age of 87.
Vira grew up in Hatch, NM where she met and married her devoted husband Robert in 1958. Together they had three children: Robert Joseph, Virginia, and Cynthia. They would go on to live in Wilmington and Long Beach in California, Albuquerque, NM and El Paso, TX, before settling back in Las Cruces, NM.
Vira was a devoted wife and mother who welcomed everyone into her home. She was known for her steadfast faith and love of angels and had a very caring and loving heart. She was a lifelong warrior, and her faith carried her through all the challenges life threw her way. When she was in high school, she had rheumatic fever and was not able to graduate from high school, but when she was 46 years old, she earned her GED. She was also determined to get her driver's license and when she was 36 years of age she passed the test and accomplished her wish! She went on to get hired at Levi/Farah Factory and then Wells Lamont Glove Factory where she was promoted to supervisor. She then worked for the Las Cruces Public Schools food service department. While living in Albuquerque, she worked as a "grandma" for La Petite Preschool. She overcame many health issues throughout her life and her legacy to her children was this determined spirit. She was a very creative person and one of her passions was sewing and decorating. It was one of the many things she missed doing as her eyes and health began to fail her. She was also an extremely good cook and fed everyone who entered her home!
She will be greatly missed by her husband of 66 1/2 years, Robert, as well as daughters, Virginia Carrión (Mike) and Cynthia (Cindy) Archuleta (Nick). Vera is also survived by a sister, Elpidia Vasquez (Frank), 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Vira was preceded in death by her parents, Eulogio and Julia Terrazas, son, Robert J. Molina, siblings, Jesus Terrazas, Raul Terrazas, Guadalupe Lucero, Raquel (Nena) Baca, Amador (Guerro), José Terrazas, Alberto Terrazas, Daniel Terrazas and Luis Terrazas.
Casket bearers will be sons-in-law: Mike Carrión, and Nick Archuleta, and grandsons: Robert Charles Molina, Jason Molina, Eddie Carrión and Andrew Archuleta. Honorary casket bearers will be granddaughters: Alana Carrión, Sara Carrión, Alyssa Hill, Julia Puccetti and Marissa Archuleta.
