EDDIE VASQUEZ SANCHEZ, 74, of Las Cruces passed away Saturday, February 21, 2026. Eddie was born June 15, 1951, to Edward "Chuy" and Emma Sanchez of Las Cruces. Growing up he shared a home with 7 siblings. He graduated from Mayfield High School Class of 1970. He was married September 5, 1975, to his wife of 50 years and had two children. Eddie was well known as an Auto mechanic. He began his mechanical expedition working for Tolliver Machine Shop sometime in 1974 for 10 years, he also worked at NASA for 5 years. He then worked for 20 years for the public schools and maintained his own small business at home. "Eddies Micro Machine Shop" as an auto mechanic. He always worked hard from sun-up to late nights to provide for his family. Everyone knew Eddie was a fun and happy person to call on at anytime. He had friends in every town throughout New Mexico. Eddie was easy to get along with and he put his best morals first, treating everyone with utmost respect and kindness. He was a natural savior to all his beloved pets. He will be remembered as a little man with a big heart.

Those left to mourn his passing include his loving wife, Micaela Lopez Sanchez; son, Eddie Ray Sanchez, (April); daughter, Sara Sanchez (Michael); brother, Fernando Sanchez all from Las Cruces; three sisters, Gloria Rocha (Eddie) and Rita Archuleta all from California, and Ella Chavez (Louie) also from Las Cruces; four grandchildren, a great-granddaughter as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of dear friends. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Beatrice Villegas and Henrietta Lopez; and a nephew, Tommy Sanchez.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10 AM Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road. Inurnment of cremains will take place at a later date.
