Dora Gonzalez, 89 years old of Las Cruces New Mexico passed away on Sunday February 11, 2024 at Mesilla Valley Hospice. She was born on September 27, 1934 in Lordsburg New Mexico to Camila and Guadalupe Sanchez .

Dora spent many years working for the State of California before moving to El Paso then Las Cruces with her family.  Dora had a heart of gold, was a fiercest protector of her family loving them all unconditionally.

Dora will be greatly missed by her sister Mary Montoya, son Steve Saenz (wife Bobetta); daughters Valerie Saenz; Lisa Martinez (Bob Garcia); Grandchildren - Nathan (Crystal); Christopher; Destiny; Marcus; Jason; Robin; as well as great grandchildren, nieces; nephews.

Dora is preceded in death by Hank Gonzalez (husband); Tony Saenz (son); Raymond Sanchez (brother); Guadalupe Sanchez (brother); Molly Figueroa (sister).

A prayer vigil will be held on Thursday February 15, 2024 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church, 100 S. Espina Street. Visitations will begin at 1:00 P.M.   Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 2:00 P.M. and the Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:30 P.M.  A graveside service will be held for family and friends on Wednesday February 21, 2024 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 5140 W Picacho Ave. Ceremony will begin at 11:30 A.M.
