LAS CRUCES – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of DOLORES CARRILLO REDE, our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, and aunt. She entered eternal rest on Monday, February 26, 2024. Dolores was born in Las Cruces, NM on August 11, 1932. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. She was a homemaker and years later after her husband passed, she went to work for Senior Companion/Foster Grandparents Program. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
She leaves behind her daughter Norma J. Rede, and her two sons, Robert J. Rede (Eleanor) and Ray A. Rede. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; April C. Rede Holguin (Sal) who was like a daughter to her, Michael J. Villa (Danielle), Lisa Roman (Carlos), Robert Rede, Jr., Ray A. Rede (Christa), Belinda Rede (Ricardo), Diana Rede, and Bernardo Rede; 21 great- grandchildren to include Anthony C. Hernandez (Elia) who lived in the family home with her and Isaiah J. Arzabal who both had a special bond with her; 6 great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be missed by "Mojito" who was her favorite grand-dog and always by her side, as well as other canine companions Colt, Pablo, and Bella.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albino, and Esther Carrillo; her loving husband, Ramon "Mickey" Rede; sisters, Corina Carrillo, Debbie Barrio, and Cuca Gilliland; brothers, Rudy, Joe, and Albino Carrillo.
At her request cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass and Celebration of her life will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, 1240 S. Espina Street in Las Cruces, NM. Eulogy will be held at 9:30 AM followed by Mass at 10 AM with the Reverend Alejandro Reyes, Celebrant. Inurnment of cremains will follow at San Albino Cemetery, 3131 Calle de Guadalupe, Mesilla, NM where she will be laid to rest with her late husband.
