Obituary

DOLORES C. BACHICHA, born in Gallup NM on March 23, 1945, passed away peacefully surrounded by family in her home on Sunday, October 13, 2024.

Dolores spent most of her life as an entrepreneur and was always a hard-working individual. Her true passion in life was nurturing her family. She was a loving mother to her only daughter, grandmother to her four granddaughters and two grandsons, and most recently welcomed her first great granddaughter. Her family was her greatest joy, she cherished every moment spent with them whether it was through cooking meals, being silly, or simply gathering to reminisce about cherished memories.

Aside from family, she made such a positive impact on countless lives through her kindness, generosity, pleasant demeanor, and warm infectious smile. Dolores's laughter and love will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, joy, and a reminder to embrace each day with a smile.

Dolores was preceded in death by spouses, Gilbert Lucero, and David Bachicha; her parents, Joe, and Victoria Leyba; brother, Robert Leyba, and wife Victoria; sisters, Helen Lopez, and husband David; and Marie (Carmen) Landavazo.

Dolores is survived by her sister, Priscilla Ortega, and husband Paul; daughter Nicole Ellvinger and husband Marc; granddaughters, Claudia Ellvinger-McDonald, and husband Darrail; Ivy, Scarlett, & Annabelle Ellvinger; grandsons Jacob and Eli Ellvinger; great granddaughter, Aloura McDonald, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to Mesilla Valley Hospice, their entire staff has been amazing and supportive during this difficult time.

No services are planned at this time.
