DENNIS FLOREZ, 44, a lifelong resident of Las Cruces, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Mountain View Regional Medical Center with his family by his side. Born August 23, 1982, to Julia Saenz and Arturo Florez, Dennis was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He spent many years working as a cook at Texas Roadhouse, where his strong work ethic and friendly personality were appreciated by both coworkers and customers.

In 2017, Dennis married the love of his life, Lisa Houghtaling. Together they shared a loving marriage built on dedication, companionship, and family.

Dennis will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Lisa Florez; his loving mother, Julia Florez; his two sons, Henry Aguirre and Raymundo Aguirre; his two daughters, Sophia Aguirre and Aaliyah Florez; his brother, Gilbert Florez; his sister, Suluma Ruiz and her companion, Cesar Garcia; and his two cherished grandchildren. He is also survived by his niece, Marisa Ruiz (Joseph Blanco); his nephews, Damin Hernandez and Adam Florez; two great-nieces; two great-nephews; and numerous extended family members and friends who will forever treasure his memory.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arturo Florez, and his beloved daughter, Amaris Florez.

Visitation will begin at 5:30 PM Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 East Boutz Road in Las Cruces. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7 PM followed immediately by the Liturgy of the Word.

In accordance with Dennis' wishes, cremation will take place, and inurnment will be held at a later date.

Though his time with us was far too short, Dennis' love for his family, his dedication to those he cared for, and the memories he created will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
