Debra Norann (Clancy) Ackerman, 71, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, passed away on September 4th, 2026. Debra was born to Cornelius T. Clancy, Jr. and Margaret (Kendrick) Atchison in Honolulu, Hawaii. She graduated from Downey High School in 1973, where she was a beloved member of the drill team. She attended California State University, Northridge, where she made a group of lifelong friends. After settling in Las Cruces, she married David S. Ackerman and had two daughters.

Debra adored children, cats, and helping people, and filled her personal and professional life with them. She was active in her church, maintained close friendships with people across states and decades, and was known for her sense of humor.

Debra is survived by her daughters Ashley Ackerman and Chloe Ackerman (Di), her grandson Callum, and her brother Sean Clancy (Jan). She was preceded in death by her parents and her stepfather Harold T. Atchison.

Debra will be remembered for her playfulness, creativity, faith, and love. We will miss her smile.
