DAVID LEE "BEAR" HARRISON, 85, of Deming went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, in Las Cruces NM surrounded by his loving family.

David was born November 11, 1937, in Minneola Texas to Bonnie Lee Whitmire and adopted by David Brassfield Harrison and Ruth Leslie Brassfield Harrison. He was a hard-working loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. "Bear" had an open-door policy in his home, everyone was welcome and encouraged to stay. Bear loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved to watch the Dallas Cowboys and westerns. He also loved to fish and hunt. He was so proud of all his grandchildren.

Bear is survived by his children, Delbert Harrison (Kathy) of North Dakota, Denny Harrison (Sue) of Wyoming, Leslie Harrison (Kevin) of Wyoming, Carolina Leyba (Gary) of Las Cruces, Cathy Bryan (Jaison) of Deming NM, David Harrison (Irma) of Deming NM, and Dale Harrison (Camille) of Radium Springs NM; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; 2 brothers-in-law, Jose Elizardo Zamora of Deming NM, and Gilbert Zamora of Canyon TX, a sister-in-law Hortencia "Tenchie" Zamora of T or C, NM; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. As well as his 3 friends he thought the world of Charlie Benjamin, Rocky Folker, and Mario Zubia. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Delfina "Sugar" Harrison and his birth mother, Bonnie Lee Whitmire, and his parents, David, and Ruth Harrison; a brother Jesse Whitmire, sister, Wanda Sue Bowen, and his grandson Anthony Cordova.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 11 AM at Living Word Family Church. Pastor Jeff Sutton will officiate.

Honorary bearers will be Kevin Cordova, Mathew Cordova, Dustin Harrison, Dylan Harrison, Dale Ryan Harrison, Tyrel Harrison, Andrew Cottingham, Celso Jr Zamora, Joe Zamora, and Norman Zamora.
