Daniel Montes, age 51, of Las Cruces, passed away on March 12, 2026. He was born on August 4, 1974, in Las Cruces, New Mexico, to his mother, Bertha Montes. Daniel built a life rooted in hard work, family, and dedication, spending his career as a landscaper—work he took pride in and approached with care and craftsmanship.

Daniel is survived by his grandmother Maria Luisa Montes, mother, Bertha French; his son, Danny Montes Jr.; his daughters, Jaslynn and Stephanie; his brother, Jesse French; and his sisters, Angie Del Moro and Rose Marie French and 8 Tias/Aunts. He is also remembered by many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by grandfather Melecio Montes, daughter Dream Montes and his cousin Javier Moreno.

A prayer vigil will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Baca's Funeral Chapel, located at 300 E. Boutz Road. Visitations will begin at 9:00 A.M., followed by the Recitation of the Rosary at 10:00 A.M. and the Funeral Liturgy at 10:30 A.M. Following the services, cremation will take place, and inurnment will be held at a later date.

Daniel's family and friends will remember him for his quiet strength, his loyalty, and the love he carried for those closest to him. His presence will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
