Cresencio Gil Cordero Jr., 70, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born July 2, 1955, in Garfield, New Mexico, to Dora and Cresencio Cordero Sr., he grew up with strong roots, deep faith, and a steadfast work ethic that
shaped the man he became.
Cresencio proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and later dedicated many years to a career in construction, where he was known for his skill, reliability, and quiet strength. He approached every task—whether for work, family, or community—with
humility and heart.
He is survived by his beloved wife Rosalie, his sons Cresencio Cordero III, Antonio Cordero, and Pablo Zamarron, and his daughters Rose Cordero and Fatima Marie Cordero. He is also survived by his brothers Armando Cordero (Susie), Juan Cordero, Alfonso Cordero, and Bobby Cordero (Debbie), and his sisters Rosa Olivas (Henry) and Norma Espinoza. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Cresencio was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gilbert Cordero.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at San Isidro Catholic Church, 2003 Loma Parda Road in Garfield, NM. Visitation Will begin at 1:30 P.M. Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 2:30 P.M. And Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 P.M. Following services, cremation will take place. Inurnment at the Garfield Cemetery will be held at a later date.
Cresencio will be remembered for his devotion to family, his love of fishing and camping, his quiet resilience, and the steady kindness he offered to all who knew him
