It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, CRESCENCIANO "CHANO" ACOSTA MORENO, age 97, of Brazito on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. "Chano," as he was fondly known to family and friends was born November 23, 1927, in Villa Lopez, Chihuahua, Mexico to Reynalda Moreno and Juan Acosta. He retired from New Mexico State University in the maintenance department and was a devout member of the Roman Catholic Church.

Those left to mourn his passing include a daughter, Terri Acosta Garcia (Benjamin) of El Paso, TX; a granddaughter, Nicole Miller (Cody); 2 great-grandsons, A. Easton Miller, and A. Ander Miller all from Las Cruces. Chano was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Herlinda V. Acosta; and his son, Sergio Acosta.

Visitation for Mr. Acosta will begin at 10 AM Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at the Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 3600 Parroquia Street in Tortugas with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 10:30AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated immediately thereafter with the Reverend Valentine Jankowski, Celebrant. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Missionary Ridge Cemetery in Mesquite where he will be laid to rest alongside his loving wife in the family plot.

Serving as casket bearers will be Cody and Nicole Miller, Benjamin Garcia, Jr., Jaime Quinonez, Al Martinez, Guerre Rodriguez, and Ramiro Diaz. Honorary bearer will be his 2 great-grandsons, A. Easton Miller, and A. Ander Miller.
