Our beloved Connie joined her husband and son in heaven on October 15, 2023. She was 77 years old.

Connie was born in Santa Fe, N.M. on July 2, 1946, to Herman and Angelita Lopez. She grew up in Albuquerque and Clayton, N.M. with 11 brothers and sisters. She met the love of her life, Louis, in Albuquerque and had 3 amazing sons. She and her husband made Clayton their permanent home to raise their family.

Connie had several different jobs in the small town of Clayton, but her passion and talents were creating house décor, gardening, and dogs. She owned and operated a shop to sell her custom wreaths and various other crafts. When her boys were all grown, she and her husband moved to Las Cruces, N.M., where they could watch their granddaughter, Michelle, grow up. Connie was employed at Dillard's of Las Cruces for several years and she continued her crafts and gardening in her spare time. Her creative spirit will be missed!

Connie is preceded in death by her husband, Louis, her son Stan, her parents, her sisters Mary Gallegos and Theresa Fernandez, and her brothers Jesus and Manuel Lopez.

Her survivors include: Jeff Roybal (Sharon) of Las Cruces, NM, Ron Roybal (Elis) of Parker, CO, and siblings Herman Jr. Lopez (Yvonne) Grand Prairie, TX, Tony Lopez (Margie) Castle Rock, CO,  Willy Lopez (Olivia) Pueblo, CO, Cruzita Segura of Clayton, NM, Sylvia Baca (Richard) of Los Lunas, NM, Alicia Sanchez of Lovington, NM, Ermalinda Alcorta (William) of Lovington, NM, 5 Grandchildren, 4 Great-Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 18,2023 at 1:00pm at the home of Jeff, Sharon, and Michelle Roybal.
