It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, companion, brother, uncle, and dear friend, CHRISTOPHER PETER MACIAS, a lifelong resident of Las Cruces, who departed this life far too soon at the age of 28.
Born December 24, 1996, to Patsy Rodriguez and Pedro Macias, Christopher brought light and laughter into the lives of all who knew him. He was a dedicated Water Lab Technician for the City of Las Cruces, where his work ethic and quiet strength earned the respect of his colleagues and community.
Christopher's life was rooted in love—love for his family, his partner, and his hometown. He is survived by his devoted mother, Patsy Rodriguez of Phoenix, AZ; his father, Pedro Macias (Yolanda); his loving companion, Christina Vigil; and his two brothers, Michael Macias (Sasha) and Jacob Macias (Memory), all from Las Cruces. He was a cherished uncle to Evelyn and Gianna Macias, Adalina Vigil, Michael Macias Jr., and Manuel Baeza. He also leaves behind his maternal grandfather, Jose Manuel Rodriguez, who held a special place in his heart.
Christopher was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Josefina Rodriguez, and his paternal grandparents, Jose Macias and Carmen Marjil. Their memory, along with his, will be forever etched in the hearts of those who loved them.
A visitation will begin at 2 PM Monday, December 22, 2025, at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road, Las Cruces. A Funeral Service will follow, officiated by Pastor Jeff Sutton. Cremation will take place thereafter, with inurnment of his cremains to be held at a later date.
Christopher's warmth, kindness, and quiet presence will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him.
