CHRISTOPHER DEVIN GIBBS, affectionately known as Chris to his family and friends, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the age of 50. Born in Southbridge, Massachusetts, on August 28, 1975, Chris was the beloved son of Deborah Ann Cannalonga and Charles Kenneth Gibbs. From a young age, he was drawn to the great outdoors, where he found joy and purpose in hunting, camping, and fishing—activities that remained his lifelong passions.

Chris proudly served his country in the United States Army with honor and dedication. Following his military service, he continued to serve his community as a compassionate and skilled EMT, always ready to lend a helping hand in times of need.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Elizabeth Tharp Gibbs; his loving mother, Deborah; his father, Charles; his stepson, Seth Allen Moore (Katlyn Potter); two stepdaughters, Alisha Moore (Bobby Bronson) and Shelby Tharp; and his only brother, Wesley Eric Gibbs (Christy). Chris was a cherished uncle to five nieces and nephews and a proud grandfather to seven step-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.

Chris was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, whose memories he held close to his heart.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Chris's life will be held at 3 PM Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Baca's Funeral Chapels, 300 E. Boutz Road, Las Cruces, New Mexico. Inurnment of cremains will be scheduled at a later date. Military honors will be rendered by the New Mexico Army National Guard Honor Guard and the Marine Corps League – El Perro Diablo Detachment.

Chris will be remembered for his unwavering loyalty, his love of nature, and the deep bonds he shared with those around him. His spirit lives on in the stories told around campfires, the quiet moments by the water, and the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
