It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and dear friend, CHRISTINE MARIE SAAVEDRA RODRIGUEZ, age 46, of Mesilla Park, NM on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Mesilla Valley Hospice, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born October 20, 1976, in Las Cruces, NM to Irene Lujan and Henry Saavedra. Christine was a devout member of Our Lady of Health Catholic Church, where she was also employed as a receptionist. She graduated from Las Cruces High School in May 1995 and from Olympian University of Cosmetology in June 2012.

Christine was a faithful servant of our Lord Jesus. She served as a Religious Education Coordinator, Lector, Pre-Cana Marriage Ministry, Las Cruces ACTS Core Team Member and served on the Women's ACTS Retreat Team.  She participated in the Our Lady of Health First Community of the Neocatechumenal Way.  She enjoyed traveling, cooking, family game nights, and more importantly, spending time with her loved ones.

Those left to mourn her passing include her loving husband of 22 years, Anthony Rodriguez; her beautiful children; son, Zane Anthony Rodriguez; 4 daughters, Zeleya Irene, Ziann Teresa, Zoey Marie, and Zaylynn Christine Rodriguez; her father, Henry Saavedra; 2 sisters, Angela, and Yvette Saavedra; 1 brother, Adam Saavedra (Marisa); and her stepfather, Socorro Torres. Other survivors include numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of dear friends. Christine was preceded in death by her loving mother, Irene Lujan Saavedra; a brother, Gabriel Henry Saavedra; her maternal grandparents Mike and Cecilia Lujan; her paternal grandparents Enrique and Rosa Saavedra; and her in-laws, Antonio Silva Rodriguez, and Esther Gamez Rodriguez.

Visitation for Christine will begin at 6 PM on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Our Lady of Health Catholic Church, 1178 N. Mesquite Street followed by a Rosary at 7 PM and an overnight Vigil. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, in the same church with the Reverend Ruben Romero officiating. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5140 W. Picacho Avenue, where she will be laid to rest in the family plot.

Serving as casket bearers will be Adam, Derek, and Gabriel Saavedra, Jacob Montano, Benjamin, and Amador Dominguez, Malek and Nazareth Rodriguez. Honorary bearers will be Jordan Rodriguez, Anthony Sherrell Jr., Mateo Saavedra, Michael Bejarano, and Estevan Aragon.
