Christina Swanson Little, beloved of all who knew her, completed her baptismal Journey on June 15, 2026. This bright, caring, and energetic human being, Chris, as she preferred, filled a life with service to her community – organizing, supporting, encouraging. A Nevada native, she lived on both coasts and several places in between, thriving in them all.

One of her cherished achievements was creating, nurturing, and managing the InterAgency Council, a clearinghouse and meeting place for non-profit service providers. For over 23 years, Christina managed its community-wide ListServe, hosted monthly meetings for participants, and fostered collaboration among local nonprofits. At the end of her career with the Interagency Council, she gave the responsibility for continuing to the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico, where it is thriving.

A Life Member of the League of Women Voters, she served as President of the League of Women Voters of New Mexico, President of the Albuquerque NM and Austin TX Leagues, as well as many other positions.

Chris leaves behind her husband of 57 years, William, her son, James, and two grandsons, Sawyer and Wren. She also leaves behind her own words to remember:

"I do think that the information about the places I have worked or volunteered – League of Women Voters - Austin Center for Attitudinal Healing – First Choice Community HealthCare – Dona Ana County Advocates for Children and Families – Interagency Council – the United Way of Southwest New Mexico – Housing Authority of the City of Las Cruces – tell you a lot about me, my values, and interests. You know by now that I value being an active and supportive member of all kinds of communities, that that I can take on leadership roles but am equally satisfied in supportive ones, that my work and volunteer history have been checkered, that I care about my family and friends, and that I have a fair amount of spunk (inherited from my mother). From my dad, I learned to appreciate and try and understand all the places that I have lived and the people I have known."

Family and friends will gather August 8, 2026, at 10am for a Celebration of Life at Peace Lutheran Church in Las Cruces, NM. A luncheon will follow at the church.
