It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Charles "Chuck" James on June 15, 2025. He was born August, 1953 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Margarite and William James.

Chuck lived most his life in Las Cruces New Mexico where he was a devoted member of the community.  He was an actively involved participant in every church he attended, generously offering his time and support.  He was also a proud and supportive member of NARFE Chapter 182.  For many years he enjoyed sharing lunch and conversation with friends at the Munson Senior Center.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years Judy James; his son Ed James and wife Joy, along with grandchildren Jabin and Elese; and his son Charles James and husband Miles Spradlin-Crater.  He also leaves behind his brother Will James III and sister Wanda Pratt.

He was preceded in death by his mother Margarite, father William and step-mother Margaret James.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday June 27, 2025 at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road in Las Cruces.

A larger celebration service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday August 15, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church, 1800 S Locust St. in Las Cruces.  All friends and family are warmly invited to attend either or both gatherings.
