Charles Earl Cunningham, known as chucky cheese, and Grandpa, passed away on December 30, 2023, at the age of 82 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He was born on May 31, 1941, in Bryan, Texas. Charles was a hardworking individual who dedicated his life to providing for his family and helping others in any way he could.

Throughout his life, Charles had a passion for mechanics and took great pride in taking care of his family's properties. He was always willing to lend a hand and offer his expertise in various areas such as plumbing, electrical work, auto mechanics, lawn care, and fencing. Charles had a knack for storytelling and delighted in sharing his truck driving adventures from across the country.

Charles is survived by his loving spouse, Mary Marie Cunningham, and his children Carl Cunningham, and his partner Margaret Gallegos, and Neda Thompson and her husband Gregory Thompson. He is also survived by his siblings, Betty Buxton, James Gary, Richard (Barbara), Pamela Phillips (Darrell), David Shorter (Pamela), Kay Carter, Phyllis Cunningham, Lisa Cunningham, James Howard Cunningham (Barbara), Micheal Cunningham (Rosetta).  Charles cherished grandchildren: Toya Hutchinson and (Tyrone), Lana Cunningham and (TJ Tate), Carl Washington., Lyndon McWhorter, Georgianna Washington, Zachary, Kenya, and Keon Thompson. Additionally, Charles leaves behind his great-grandchildren: Noah Washington, Kimora Braggs, Tyrone Jr. and Zayvier Hutchinson, Zaniyah Tate, Alliah, Keelan, Mya, Evelynn, and Dani McWhorter.

He was preceded in death by his mother Florene Walton, Father James Cunningham, Stepmother Violet Cunningham, and his brothers Gary Cunningham, Perry Cunningham, his sister Sissy Cunningham, and his daughter Wilma Cunningham.

Over the course of his career, Charles held various roles. He worked in a bakery in Belen, New Mexico, drove logger trucks in Magdalena, New Mexico, and spent over 40 years as a truck driver, traversing the country. Additionally, Charles dedicated 15+ years to the pecan industry, meticulously tending to hundreds of acres of pecan groves, overseeing irrigation, harvesting, and equipment maintenance.

Charles found solace in his faith and was a member of Faith Christian Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He found joy in his hobbies, which included scratchers and visiting casinos with his family.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024, at 02:00 P.M. at Baca's Funeral Chapel, located at 300 E Boutz Road, Las Cruces, NM.

Charles Earl Cunningham will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched with his kind-heartedness, hard work, and unwavering dedication. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who know him.
