It is with deep sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of CELIA REDE MAYERS, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at her home in Mesilla, NM surrounded by her loved ones, after a brief and courageous battle with Cancer. Celia, a lifelong resident of Mesilla was born February 3, 1962, to Lorenzo "Lore" and Estella Rede.
At the time of her passing Celia had been employed at Landmark Real Estate for many years and had previously worked at First National Bank and Tierra Del Sol.
Celia is survived by her son, Julian Brian Mayers (Dr. Dina Valle); grandsons, Julian Mayers, Gabriel Mayers, and granddaughter, Trinity Mayers. Celia is also survived by her brother, Ruben Rede (Teri); sisters, Gloria Rodriguez (Henry), Sylvia Madrid (Anthony Renio), and her twin sister, Cecilia Rede Luchini (Wally); her nephews and nieces; Steven Rede, Sammy Rede, Caroline Manzanares, Megan Lara, Jessica Quesada, Randi Cabrera (Goddaughter); grandnephews and nieces; Antonio Rede, Emilia Rede, Nathan Rede, Mariah Ruiz, Brandon Manzanares, Nathan Lara, Brianna Lara, Devan Acosta, Kynley Cabrera, Kody Alcorta, and her beloved fur babies; Dak, Dallas, and Ruby Lynn. Celia was preceded in death by her parents, brother, and grandbabies Loren and little, Brian Rede Mayers.
At her request cremation has taken place and Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 10:30 AM Wednesday, May 28, 2025, with the Funeral Mass to follow immediately at The Basilica De San Albino, 2070 Calle De Santiago in Mesilla. Inurement of cremains will follow at San Albino Cemetery.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to her hospice nurses Patsy and Mariah for taking such good care of Celia and thank you to Kathy and Jacquie of Mesilla Valley Hospice.
