CECILIA A. ARCHIBEQUE, entered eternal life, surrounded by her loving family on May 11, 2026.

Cecilia was born in Bernalillo New Mexico on May 22, 1939, to Lucia and Geronimo Montoya. Cecilia attended school at Our Lady of Sorrows in Bernalillo, NM and graduated in 1957. Cecilia married Iggy on July 4, 1959. In 1963 they moved to Anthony, NM where they lived for 39 years. In 2002, they retired to Las Cruces, NM where they enjoyed living and spending time with family and friends.

Cecilia dedicated her life to her faith and her family. She was always involved in the parish where she lived. At St. Anthony Parish, she was a Eucharistic Minister for Mass and for the homebound. She belonged to the Altar Society, helped organize the annual fiesta and with her husband, prepared couples for marriage. At Our Lady of Health Parish, she also was a Eucharistic Minister and with her husband, helped prepare couples for marriage. Cecilia attended daily Mass and weekly adoration.

Cecilia loved to sew, crochet, knit, cook, bake, and spend time with her family and friends especially during the holidays. Cecilia relished the pilgrimages she and Iggy took to Italy and Jerusalem.

Cecilia was always involved in her children's activities. Cecilia loved spending time and caring for her grandchildren and watching them grow into the exceptional young adults they have become. She was always proud of their accomplishments.

Cecilia was preceded in death by her parents Lucia and Geronimo Montoya, her siblings, Walter Montoya, Lorraine Miera, Rudy Montoya and Johnny Montoya.

Cecilia is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Ignacio Archibeque and children Timothy (Sylvia) Archibeque, Judith (Chuck) Corriz and Yvette Archibeque. Her beloved grandchildren whom she cherished, Dylan (Ally) Archibeque, Dante Archibeque, Dominick Cordova and Danielle Cordova. Her two beautiful great grandchildren, Jacaerys and Raenessa Archibeque and her many Godchildren, nieces and nephews and friends who are like family.

Your smile, laughter and hugs will be missed. We will carry your beautiful and caring spirit for family in our hearts forever.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 1:30 pm. Funeral Mass Immediately Following.

The Rite of Committal and Inurnment will follow at St. Francis Columbarium, Friday, June 12, 2026
