CARMEN ESTRADA PEREIDA, age 67, of Anthony, New Mexico, passed away peacefully at her home Friday, November 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born February 7, 1958, in Cd. Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, Carmen was the cherished daughter of Enriqueta Rodriguez and Miguel Estrada. She dedicated her life to nurturing others, beginning with her career as a preschool teacher for migrant children through the H.E.L.P. program. Her compassion, patience, and unwavering commitment to her students left a lasting impact on countless young lives.
After retiring, Carmen found immense joy in caring for her beloved grandchildren. Her days were filled with the simple pleasures she adored—tending to her flowers, listening to music, traveling, doting on her dogs, and enjoying the occasional trip to the casino. Her radiant smile could light up any room, and her warmth and kindness made her a friend to all who crossed her path.
Carmen shared a beautiful life with her devoted husband, Guillermo Pereida. Together, they raised a loving daughter, Carmen Pereida, who was the pride of their hearts. Carmen's legacy lives on through her two grandchildren, Destiny Portillo and Adrian Torres, who brought her endless joy.
She is also lovingly remembered by her four sisters, Velia, Marisela, Irma, and Teresa and her two brothers, Mike Jr. and Jesse. Her absence leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew her. Carmen is now reunited with her parents in heaven.
Cremation has taken place and Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 9:30 AM Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 224 Lincoln Street in Anthony, followed by a Memorial Mass in celebration of her life.
Carmen's spirit of love, laughter, and generosity will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
