Obituary

Carlos "Rocky" Saucedo, 93, of Lordsburg, New Mexico passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025. Rocky was born on March 6, 1932, in Deming, New Mexico to Angelina Chavez Saucedo and Manuel Saucedo. After graduating high school, Rocky enlisted in the United States Navy and served four years as a Corpsman. He traveled to many different areas including Guam and Boston; he also served in the Korean War. After his time in the Navy, Rocky settled back home in Lordsburg and worked in many different occupations, where he met many of his lifelong friends.

Rocky was a man of few words; however, his kind spirit, friendly demeanor, and family devotion made a lasting impact on everyone he met. After retirement, Rocky loved cruising the town in his truck, visiting friends at McDonalds, and catching every maverick game he could. He especially had so much pride in watching his grandkids play sports, and showed up to every event they had. He will be remembered for his storytelling, jokes, and enjoying a cold beer at the maverick, but most of all, his love for his family.

Rocky is survived by his wife, Delfina Saucedo of 58 years; his daughter Patricia Saucedo; grandkids Derek Flores and Devinee Flores; his bonus grandson Adan Ortiz and his four great-grandkids Adalyn, Andrew, Adrian, and AJ Ortiz – who he adored so much.

Rocky was preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter, Desiree Flores.

Though he has departed this world, Rocky leaves behind a lifetime of memories, stories, and love that will be carried forward by his family and friends. His genuine spirit will remain alive in the hearts of those who knew him.
