CARLOS LORENZO MORALES, age 74, of Las Cruces, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. His departure leaves a tender and heartfelt absence in all who knew him.

Carlos lived his life with a generous spirit and a quiet, steady strength. A devoted teacher for many years, he guided countless students with patience, compassion, and genuine care. His gentle encouragement and thoughtful wisdom shaped not only minds, but hearts—leaving a lasting imprint on generations who were fortunate to learn from him.

Rooted in faith, humility, and hard work, Carlos valued integrity and the simple joys of everyday life. Whether offering a helping hand, sharing a warm smile, or giving calm, reassuring guidance, he touched lives with his kindness and unwavering presence.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved family, who will forever hold close to the lessons he taught and the love he gave. He is remembered not only for the life he lived, but for the warmth he carried into every room and the steadfast support he offered to all who were dear to him.

Those left to mourn his passing include his loving wife 50 years, Margarita “Maggie” Morales; three beautiful daughters, Lucy Milks, Berta Samuel and Laura Ramsey (Dustin) all from Las Cruces; a brother, Pedro Morales (Jenny) also of Las Cruces; three sisters, Beatriz Jamis (Mario), Rosa Morales and Esther Roth (Ron) all from El Paso, TX., his beloved four grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Antonio and Genoveva; a stepdaughter, Ashley Lucero and son-in-law, Butch Lucero.

Carlos’s legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, his students, and everyone who experienced his gentle, caring nature.

At his request cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Baca’s Funeral Chapal, 300 E. Boutz Road, Las Cruces.

Inurnment of cremains will take place at a later date.
