Our dear beloved faithful, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, CANDIDO PORRAS CUETO, age 98, of San Miguel passed away Monday, February 3, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 2, 1927, in Guadalupe Victoria, Chihuahua, Mexico to Guadalupe Porras and Juan Cueto. Candido was employed by Stahmann Farms for many years and then was a self-employed landscaper and a communicant at San Miguel Catholic Church.
Those left to mourn his passing include; four sons, Leo Cueto (Lulie) of Las Cruces, Sammy Cueto (Alice) of La Mesa, Danny Cueto (Patricia) of El Paso, TX, and Adrian Cueto of La Mesa; two daughters, Rikki Medina (Kiki) of Anthony and Maria Cueto (Adriel) of San Miguel; brother, Agustin Cueto of Oklahoma City, OK., 2 sisters, Inocencia Cueto of Bakersfield, CA., and Julia Levario of Oklahoma City, OK. Other survivors include 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Candido was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Aurora Garcia Cueto on August 10, 2017; grandson, Luciano Roman Cueto; and 9 brothers and sisters.
Visitation for Mr. Cueto will begin at 10 AM Monday, February 17, 2025, at San Miguel Catholic Church, 19217 S. Highway 28 in San Miguel where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 10:30 AM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated immediately thereafter with the Reverend Ivan Torres, Celebrant. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in San Miguel Cemetery where he will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife in the family plot.
Serving as casket bearers will be his grandchildren and other family members.
