Brenda Lorene Schneider, 67, of Las Cruces, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026. Born August 19, 1958, in El Paso, Texas, Brenda was the beloved daughter of Zelda and Procopio Chavez. She built a life defined by hard work, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family and community.

Brenda was a proud business owner of a local laundromat, where she greeted everyone with warmth and a ready smile. Her dedication to her work reflected her larger commitment to helping others—always willing to lend a hand, offer encouragement, or share a moment of kindness.

She is survived by her husband Karl Schneider, and her brothers Terry Chavez (Virginia), David Chavez (Maria), Robert Chavez (Lauri), Dwayne E. Chavez (Norma) and her sister-in-law Betty. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Charles Chavez and Dennis Arthur Chavez. Her family remembers her as a woman of deep compassion, quiet strength, and a heart that never stopped giving.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, at Baca’s Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road. Visitations will begin at 9:00 A.M., followed by the Celebration of Life at 10:00 A.M. Interment and the Rite of Committal will conclude at Garden of Memories, 101 Apajo Way in Hatch.

Brenda’s legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched through her kindness, her work, and her steadfast love for her family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
