Betty Ann Weisbrod, 99, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 14,2024. She was born on February 8, 1925 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Alfred and Merle Meyers. She graduated from Fenton High School in northern Iowa in 1942. World War II was in progress. In response, Betty Ann completed training as a registered nurse at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. On January 29, 1946, she married Harold (Bob) R. Weisbrod. They were married for 70 years before his death.

After having three sons in Iowa and Illinois, Bob's work brought them to Marion, Illinois where they lived for about 10 years. Aldersgate Methodist Church became their extended family and life-long friendships blossomed. Leading the high school youth fellowship was a blessing as it played a part in helping many young men and woman grow in Christ. While seeking new challenges in the aerospace industry, her husband's career brought them to Fort Worth, Texas followed by Wichita, Kansas. Betty Ann took a refresher nursing class in 1974 and worked in the Wichita hospitals. A final career change for her husband led to their move to Las Cruces, New Mexico where Bob worked until he retired. Betty Ann found the desert to be a spiritual oasis with the Woman's Aglow group. She enjoyed Bible studies with her sisters in Christ. Prayer for others was an important part of her life. During their later years, Betty Ann and Bob attended First Evangelical Free Church.

From Betty Ann's humble beginnings on a small farm in Iowa, she grew into a loving and caring person who expressed gratitude for all her blessings. Her giving nature to her family and the religious community is exemplified by the following example. When Bob asked Betty Ann to marry him, she responded that she couldn't because she didn't know how to cook! Then she began 70 years creating more than 50,000 delicious meals. Her devotion to family is also reflected in her photography. While Bob's interest in optics initiated their photographic hobby, Betty Ann became a patient and avid photographer of vacations and other family events.

Betty Ann is survived by her two sons, Kirk and wife, Betsy, of Los Alamos, N.M. and Kim and wife, Laura, of Fort Worth, Texas. She leaves two grandchildren, Rachel and Christie, children of Kim and Greg, respectively, and two nieces and two nephews through her sister Joan. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, Bob, oldest son and wife (Gregory and Joyce), and granddaughter, Katherine.

A life celebration will be held at 10:30am on August 20, 2024 at Mesilla Valley Hospice, Las Cruces, New Mexico. A graveside ceremony will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later time with immediate family. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to your religious organization of choice may be made in memory of Betty Ann Weisbrod.
