BERTA GARCIA, age 62, a lifelong resident of Las Cruces, New Mexico, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Saturday, October 4, 2025, at her home, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. Born January 26, 1963, to Antonia and Mamerto Garcia, Berta was a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, beloved sister, and loyal friend. Her warmth, strength, and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew her. She had a special fondness for cats, and her gentle spirit extended to every living creature she encountered.

Berta is survived by her two loving daughters: Berta Garcia and husband Lorenzo, and Delilah Contreras and Fabian Flores, all from Las Cruces. She also leaves behind her three brothers: Jesus Garcia and Francisco "Paco" Solano of Long View, Texas, and Carlos Garcia and wife Gracie of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Her seven grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she will be deeply missed by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and other beloved family members, whose memories she carried close to her heart.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road, with the Prayer Vigil at 2 PM. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 2:30 PM. At her request cremation will take place and Inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date.

Berta's legacy of love, laughter, and compassion will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. May she rest in eternal peace.
