Bernie Carrillo, 92, entered eternal life on August 7, 2026. He was born in Doña Ana, New Mexico, to Cilia and Bernardino Carrillo. He is survived by five children: Elaine; Michael (DeAnn); Trish; Dino; Peter (Diana); 19 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Bernie was known for his love of people, devotion to family, and strong faith. Family was one of his greatest joys, and he cherished attending church and spending time in prayer.

After retiring from New Mexico State University, Bernie enjoyed sports at the senior center. He competed in the Senior Olympics, where his ability, determination, and competitive spirit helped him excel and earn numerous awards.

Bernie touched many lives and leaves a legacy of faith, love, and lasting memories. We thank God for his life and the joy he brought to family and friends. He will be deeply missed and cherished.

Funeral services will be held on September 4, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1327 N. Miranda Street. Inurnment will follow at Immaculate Heart of Mary Garden Columbarium. Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Bernie’s life.
