It is with deep sadness and very heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and dear friend, BEATRICE "BEA" GARCIA MOLINA, age 67, lifelong resident of Las Cruces on Monday, November 4, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born January 7, 1957, to Benita Martinez and Ramon Garcia. "Grandma Bea," as she was fondly known, was a retired LCPS bilingual education teacher whose dedication to her students and passion for education left a lasting impact on her community.
Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She was unwavering in her commitment to being present at their many activities, from their sporting events to dance recitals and school concerts, never wanting to miss a moment of their achievements. She also enjoyed going to the casino with her husband and playing bingo with her sisters. Her love, encouragement, and proud cheers will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her.
Those left to mourn her passing include her loving husband of 42 years, Alfredo Molina; sons Jason Molina (Kristy), Armando Molina (MariaAnna), and step-son Javier Molina all from Las Cruces; 3 brothers, Ramon Garcia (Maria), Rudy Garcia (April) also from Las Cruces and Sam Garcia (Gina) from Albuquerque; 7 sisters, Mae Garcia, Gracie Campos (Jose), Patsy Benegas (Tim), Gloria Meacham, and Irma Chavez (Bobby) all from Las Cruces, Debbie Torrez (Elias) of El Paso, TX., and Linda Bullin (Kelly) of Dallas, TX., 2 sisters-in-law, Ernestine Molina and Becky De La O. Other survivors include 10 grandchildren Jaeden, Devan, Joshua, Nathan, Audrey, Junior, Carlos, Desiree, Miguel, Derrick, and 1 great-grandchild Ezra, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bea was preceded in death by her parents; nephew, B.J. Chavez; 3 brothers-in-law, Tom Meacham, Frank De La O and David Molina; her mother-in-law, Elvira Molina and 2 compadres, Bobby Soto, and Eugene Pedraza.
Visitation for Bea will begin at 10:30 AM Friday, November 22, 2024, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, 1240 S. Espina Street with the Prayer Vigil at 11 AM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated immediately thereafter. Cremation will follow and Inurnment of cremains will take place at a later date.
Serving as casket bearers will be Rudy Garcia Jr., Junior Molina, Carlos Molina, Andrew Torrez, Jacob Banegas, Ernie De La O Jr., Robert Soto, Eugenio Pedraza. Honorary casket bearers are Ernie De La O Sr. and her grandchildren.
