BALDOMERO GARCIA NUNEZ, 91, of Las Cruces, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born December 16, 1934, in Durango, Durango, Mexico, to Baldomero and Eduvijes Garcia, he grew up with strong values of faith, hard work, and devotion to family—principles he carried throughout his life. Baldomero worked many years as a maintenance man, a role in which he took great pride, known for his reliability, humility, and willingness to help anyone in need. He was a faithful member of the Catholic Church and lived his life with quiet strength and deep gratitude.
Baldomero is survived by his beloved wife, Maria de Jesus Gonzalez Garcia, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and partnership. He leaves behind six devoted children: sons Baldomero Garcia (Maria), Marco Antonio Garcia (Margarita Torres), Apolinar Garcia (Zulma), Dagoberto Garcia (Francelia), all from Las Cruces, and Rene Garcia (Maritza) of Ohio; and his daughter Matilde Portillo, also of Las Cruces.
He was blessed with 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews who will forever cherish his gentle presence, his stories, and the wisdom he passed down through generations. Baldomero was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters; two brothers; and his son‑in‑law, Jacob Portillo.
His legacy lives on in the family he nurtured, the faith he practiced, and the quiet kindness he shared with all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
