It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle AURELIANO E. MONSIVAIZ, on December 26, 2024, Wally (as he was fondly known) surrounded by his family was called home by his Lord and savior.  Wally was born June 16, 1945, in Ortiz, Chihuahua, Mexico to Elias and Alicia Monsivaiz.

He married his high school sweetheart, Rosa Monsivaiz on September 9, 1965. They had two children, Sally Torres and Aureliano (Wally) Monsivaiz Jr.  Wally was a very hardworking man. He was willing to help anyone in need, especially his children. Wally enjoyed going to see his grandchildren play in whatever sport they were in. He loved to go fishing. He looked forward to his fishing adventures with his fishing buddy, his brother, Raul, and he would come home with some great fishing stories. Watching westerns and football was another favorite past time of his. His favorite teams were the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Minnesota Vikings.

He is survived by his daughter, Sally Torres; two sons, Aureliano "Wally" Monsivaiz Jr., (Olivia), and Raul Calderon (April); a sister, Norma Hernandez (Eddie) and brothers, Raul Monsivaiz (Rosa), Joe Monsivaiz (Diane), and Ramon Monsivaiz; his grandchildren, Chris Torres (Audrey), Mychal Torres, Benji Monsivaiz, Brooklynn Garner (Jon), Jordan Monsivaiz (Bella); his two great-granddaughters, Olivia Torres and Allison Monsivaiz, and many, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Rosa Monsivaiz; his parents, Elias, and Alicia Monsivaiz; brothers, Manuel, and Arturo Monsivaiz; sister, Gloria Monsivaiz; also, by his father and mother-in-law, Guadalupe, and Isabel Astorga.

Cremation has taken place and Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 9:30 AM Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road with the Funeral Liturgy to be celebrated thereafter. Inurnment of cremains will follow at Masonic Cemetery, 760 S. Compress Road.
