It is with great sadness that we have to say goodbye to our beloved Augustine Arzabal, 78, of Mesilla, New Mexico, who we loved and cherished. Augustine was called to join his lord and savior on January 3,2024.
"Chango" known by his friends, Augustine was born to his loving parents Manuel and Gaudencia Arzabal. He was a father, grandfather, and brother. Augustine was known for his nickname "Chango" to his friends. Augustine held many job titles in his life as a construction laborer, mason, to a plasterer. But his favorite role was being a father. He loved nothing more than spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was always there when needed. He was always encouraging and supportive. His positive and optimistic character always shined through. Though we are sad to see him go, we are also privileged to have shared our lives with a gem of a man. Augustine taught us so many things that we will pass on to generations to come. His journey is an inspiration to our family and others who lives he touched. May his family and friends find solace in commemorating a life well lived and bid farewell to a beloved father, grandfather, and friend. May he rest in peace.
Augustine is survived by his daughters, Michelle Schultz from Nashville Georgia; Jennifer Romero from Anthony, New Mexico; Adrianna Ordaz from La Mesa, New Mexico; son, Tony Arzabal from Chandler Arizona; his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sisters, Bertha Ramirez from San Pablo, New Mexico; Isabel Pacheco from Las Cruces, New Mexico; brother, Enrique Arzabal from San Pablo, New Mexico; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Gaudencia Arzabal; Daughter, Beatrice Powell from Nashville, Georgia; Brothers, Pete Arzabal and Robert "Herbie" Arzabal; and Brother-in-law, Roberto Ramirez.
