Arturo "Tudy" Carrillo, beloved son, brother, uncle, veteran, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2025, at the age of 68.

Tudy was born on July 30, 1957, in Mesilla, New Mexico, to Jesus and Eufrasia Carrillo. He was the second youngest of nine children and shared a lifelong, inseparable bond with his youngest brother, Conrad — a relationship so strong and full of mischief, love, and loyalty that they were known simply as "Tudy & Conrad" or affectionately, "The Boys".

In January 1975, Tudy proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Vietnam Era. He participated in the evacuation of American civilians and military personnel during the fall of Saigon, a moment in history that reflected his courage and dedication to his country. He achieved the rank of Lance Corporal and carried the values of honor, service, and loyalty throughout his life.

A self-taught musician, Tudy found great joy in playing the drums and guitar. His favorite artist was Santana, and he often joked that his theme song was Europa (Earth's Cry, Heaven's Smile) — a fitting soundtrack to a life that blended passion and peace.

Tudy had a deep love for cooking and baking, and his homemade cookies were especially cherished by his nieces and nephews. He was also known for his legendary storytelling, quick wit, and ability to make everyone laugh for hours.

Tudy's love extended to animals as well, and he especially adored his pet dogs over the years. His most recent companions Diamond and Baby Boy will surely feel his absence as their bond was unbreakable.

Despite facing major physical challenges following a life-altering accident, Tudy's determination was unwavering. Refusing to accept a diagnosis that predicted permanent paralysis, he taught himself to walk again — a true testament to his inner strength and resilience.

Tudy had a generous heart, a magnetic personality, and an incredible ability to make lasting friendships wherever he went. His loyalty to family, friends, and country was unmatched.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Eufrasia Carrillo; his brothers Samuel, Conrad, and Reynaldo Carrillo; and his sister, Socorro Limon.

Tudy is survived by his brothers Jimmy and Manuel Carrillo of San Miguel, NM; Francisco Carrillo of Albuquerque, NM; and David Carrillo and wife Ida of Las Cruces, NM. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends who will forever remember his kindness, strength, and unforgettable spirit.

Tudy Carrillo lived life with courage, laughter, and love. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the honor of knowing him.

Visitation will be held from 09i:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. on Friday October 10, 2025 at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road. Recitation of the Rosary will be at the Basilica of San Albino, 2280 Calle Principal at 11:00 A.M. and the Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 A.M. Interment and Rite of Committal will conclude at the San Albino Cemetery.
