Arthur J. Maese of Las Cruces, NM passed away May 13, 2026, in Las Cruces, NM.

Art was born In Prescott, AZ to Jose P. and Aurora J. Maese. A man of music, laughter, and boundless generosity, he filled every room with his voice and his joy. He loved to sing and dance, often turning ordinary moments into celebrations. His quick wit and playful humor brought smiles to everyone around him, and his generous spirit made him the first to offer help and comfort. He cared deeply for his family, pouring his heart into every relationship and showing his love not just in words, but in the way he lived each day. His presence was a gift, and his legacy lives on in the joy, kindness, and love he shared.

Art is survived by his wife, Ramona Maese; three children – Celestia C. McGuire (Michael), Arthur A. Maese (Monica), Phillip M. Maese; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; siblings – Stella Peters, Espie Eckman, Emma Maese, Robert Maese, Velma Ward, Lucy Nixon and Benjamin Maese; and many nieces and nephews.

Art was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Ruben Maese, Sonny Maese, and Mary Ann Mayer.

A prayer vigil will be held at 7:00pm on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 3600 Paroquia Street. A funeral mass will be the next day on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 10:00am. Inurnment will follow at Tortugas Cemetery.
