It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of 73 year old Anita Velasquez on December 18, 2023. She was born on November 27, 1950 in Carlsbad to Lucy Mendoza and Ignacio Torres.

Those left to mourn her include her beloved husband Fidel Velasquez, three sons Gilbert Velasquez, Freddy Trevino and Johhny Trevino, and daughter Irene Velasquez. She also leaves four brothers Joe Torres, Nick Torres, Manuel Torres and Jimmy Torres and sister Virgina Torres.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lucy and Ignacio.

A celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday January 9, 2024 at Baca's Funeral Chapel 300 E. Boutz Road. Visitations will begin at 08:30 A.m. and the Celebration of Life will be at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Matthew Garcia presiding. Interment and Rite of Committal will conclude at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 5140 W. Picacho Ave.
