Althea King (Lisa), age 48, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, passed away on May 17, 2024.

She was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico, to Joe Salazar and Connie Coca. Lisa had a rewarding career as a paralegal. She worked for a respected defense attorney and as a legal assistant at the District Attorney's Office. She was also a trial court administrative assistant with the Third Judicial District Court. Lisa was her children's loudest and biggest supporter when they played sports. She would design team uniforms and take the kids to eat after games. She loved watching her kids compete and being the team mom. Lisa's presence was felt around others, and she could have people bursting with laughter with her sense of humor. Friendships were important to her, and she was blessed with some dear friends. Her biggest impact and contribution was being a mother to her three children. She gave them valuable life lessons, and they have pieces of her that will never pass away.

She is survived by her daughter, Revae King, son Angel King, son Malachi King, three grandsons, and one granddaughter. She is also survived by her mother, Connie Coca, brother Benito Salazar, sister Rebecca, sister Roxanne Smith, and sister Andrea.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Salazar. Service arrangements have been entrusted to Baca's Funeral Chapel of Las Cruces, New Mexico.

A visitation will be held Thursday, May 30, 2024, starting at 5pm at Baca's Funeral Chapels, 300 East Boutz. A Celebration of Life will start at 6pm. Pastor Fred Espinosa of Las Cruces First Church will lead a service.
