It is with great sadness and sorrow that we inform you of the death of Allen D. Carrillo on September 7, 2024, in El Paso, Texas. With his mother and brothers at his bedside, Allen entered his new life to join his father and sister who welcomed his joyfully.
Allen was born in Las Cruces, New Mexico on November 15, 1962 to Willie J. Carrillo and Martha Miranda Carrillo. In 1964, the family moved to California where they remained until 1981. Upon returning to Las Cruces, Allen went to work at New Mexico State University in Custodial Services. He retired after twenty-nine (29) years.
After his retirement, Allen enjoyed going camping with his friends and family. He enjoyed attending NASCAR races in the southwest area and local truck and car shows. Allen was a good mechanic, always willing to help his family and friends, and enjoyed teaching his nephews how to repair their own cars.
Allen is survived by his mother Martha, two brothers: Gary L. Carrillo of Mesa, Arizona, and Jeffrey S. Carrillo of Las Cruces; three special nephews: Michael Schavier, Gage Lunsford, and Zachary Carrillo. He is also survived by many cousins both in Las Cruces and California. Allen was blessed with eight aunts: Adela Rodriguez, Delfina Amezaga, Ruth Tracy, Yolanda Benavidez, Priscilla Chavez (Joe), Natalie Sollis, and Patricia Martinez. One surviving uncle, Leroy J. Carrillo (Rosie).
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie J. Carrillo and his sister, Beatrice C. Lunsford, his paternal grandparents Ramon and Virginia Carrillo and maternal grandparents Roman and Juanita Miranda, several uncles and two aunts: Rosela Romero and Aurelia Chavez.
Cremation has taken place and a burial service will be conducted for Allen at Holy Cross Church, Columbarium of St. Francis on Friday, October 11, 2024 at 1:00 pm, after the daily mass.
