Alicia (Elisa) T. Lucero, 89, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on February 17, 2026 in Las Cruces, NM.

She was born on January 9, 1937, to Ramon and Josie Telles. She lived her life devoted to her children and grandchildren, who were the center of her world. She was not just a grandmother, she was a Nana, making her that more special. She was a faithful and enthusiastic supporter of Las Cruces High School football and rarely missed a home game, cheering proudly from the stands.

She worked for many years as a bus driver and later as a lunch and recess monitor at Desert Hills Elementary. She truly loved going to work each day, cherishing time spent with her coworkers and the many children whose lives she touched. She also enjoyed spending time tending to her garden.

She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Frank Lucero, her children Vince, Pat (Laura), Dianna Smith (Alan) and Paul (Melissa); her grandchildren, David Dill, Margaret Lucero, Elisa Fisher, Malorie Lucero and Ryan Lucero; and her great-grandchildren, Scarlett and Dorian Dill, and Bryce Chaires. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 17, 2026, 4-6pm at the Hotel Encanto, 705 South Telshor Blvd, Las Cruces, NM, in The Cantina area.
