Alfonso Rodriguez Chavez (Fonzy) 45 of Las Cruces, NM passed away on August 8, 2023. He was born in Delicias, Chihuahua, MX on November 5, 1977 to  Filomeno Chavez and Esther Rodriguez Chavez.

Alfonso was a huge San Francisco 49ers fan. He loved cooking out with his friends and family. He was a hard worker. He enjoyed the races. He loved off-roading and being out in the mountains. Alfonso always took care of his mother and his family. Alfonso loved his son, Israel and spending as much time as he could with him.

He is survived by his son, Peter Israel Chavez his mother, Esther Rodriguez Chavez and father, Filomeno Chavez Aranda. He had two sisters, Ramona (Mona) Chavez Escudero and Lorena Chavez. One brother, Adrian Garcia. He had one niece, Lavanni Chavez Escudero, two nephews, Isaac Chavez Escudero and Noah Chavez Escudero. Three great nieces and lots of extended family.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday August 16, 2023 at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road. Visitations will begin at 01:30 P.M. and the Celebration of Life will begin at 02:30 P.M. with Pastor Gabriel Solis officiating. Interment and Rite of Committal will conclude at Dona Ana Cemetery.
