Alejandro Renteria or (APA) as he was fondly called, 99, was born on March 27, 1927, in Canutillo, Durango, México, to Maria Alvarado and Valentin Renteria. He passed away peacefully at home on September 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

He grew up with very little, learning from an early age that life would not be easy. Those humble beginnings shaped the man he would become. Rather than allowing hardships to define him, he used it as a motivation to build a better life for himself and, most importantly, for his family.

He was a man who knew what it meant to work hard. Throughout his life, he worked tirelessly to provide for his family. He often put the needs of his wife and children ahead of his own, making sacrifices without complaint and doing whatever was necessary to make sure his family had what they needed. His children will carry those lessons with them for the rest of their lives. Every long day worked, every challenge overcome, and every responsibility taken seriously will be a reflection of the example he set.

Alejandro worked for many years in construction, a trade that reflected his strength, dedication, and unwavering work ethic. He built not only structures, but a legacy of resilience, humility, and devotion to his family.

He is survived by his sons Lorenzo Renteria (Thelma), Alejandro Renteria Jr.(Ofelia), Jose de la Luz Renteria (Luz), Javier Renteria (Alma), and Cesar Renteria; Daughters Lorenza Misquez, Maria Felix de Corona, Cuca Renteria, Aurora Soto Renteria, Manuela Recendez (Florentino), Minerva García (Enrique), Maria Renteria Goodall (Kevin), and Regina Montes (Ramon).

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife Vicenta Armendariz Renteria; daughter Esther, son Seferino; sister Heriberta Renteria Alvarado; brother Roberto Renteria; grandchildren Veronica Montoya Renteria and Ernest Misquez Renteria; and sons‑in‑laws Ernest Misquez Sr., Roberto Soto, and Daniel Corona.

A prayer vigil will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, 1240 S. Espina Street. Visitation will begin at 06:00 P.M., and the Rosary will begin at 07:00 P.M. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, October 2, 2026, at IHM. Interment and the Rite of Committal will conclude at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 5140 W. Picacho Avenue.

Alejandro will be remembered for his quiet strength, his deep love for his family, and the life he built through hard work and faith, he will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. His legacy lives on in the many hearts he touched.
