Obituary

With deep love and gratitude, the family of ALEJANDRA MARTINEZ GUILLEN, age 79, of Las Cruces, announces her peaceful entrance into eternal life on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at La Posada–Mesilla Valley Hospice, surrounded by her devoted family.

Born March 17, 1947, in San Luis, Potosí, Mexico, to Rita Araujo and Enrique Martinez, Alejandra lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service. A loving homemaker and a devout member of the Roman Catholic Church, she nurtured her home with kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion. Her gentle spirit and steadfast love touched all who were blessed to know her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Benedieto Nunez Guillen, and her son, Roberto Guillen, both of Las Cruces. She is also survived by her brothers, Dario Martinez and Carlos Martinez; and her sisters, Reyna Martinez and Juana Ortega. Alejandra leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever hold her close in their hearts. She was preceded in death by her loving parents; her brothers, Beto, Leon and Jose Martinez; and her sister, Lola Alvilla.

Visitation for Mrs. Guillen will begin at 10 AM on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at The Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, 1240 S. Espina Street, followed by the Prayer Vigil at 11AM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated immediately thereafter. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will follow, and Inurnment of cremains will take place at a later date.

Serving as casket bearers will be her family and friends.

Alejandra’s legacy is one of faith, devotion, and quiet strength. Her love will continue to guide her family, and her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew her.
