Obituary

It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Alberto L. Garcia Jr.,76, a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Marine Veteran, he was called by our Lord on January 11, 2026, in Webster, Texas. He was born August 31, 1949, in Salem, New Mexico to Albert and Adelina Garcia.

Albert graduated from Hatch Valley High school 1967. In service to his Country, he joined the United States Marine Corps. After his military service he began his career with the Department of Army as a Lead Firefighter in White Sands Missile Range, NM.

Albert married the love of his life Rennie Apodaca, on November 17, 1973, and shared 52 strong years of marriage. He spent his time enjoying his family, especially devoting his time to his grandkids.

Known to his family as "Boy" and friends as "Perico", Albert will be greatly missed. He will always be remembered by his personable character. His jokes and laughter could make anyone smile. Family and friends always loved to hear his stories he enjoyed sharing, always filling the room with laughter.

Albert is survived by his beloved wife, Rennie Garcia. Daughter, Barbara Ann Santa Cruz (Webster, Tx); 4 grandchildren, Elijah, Christian, Jessie, and Adam Santa Cruz. Son, Ernest Arvizu (Jana) (Grand Prairie, Tx). Sister, Norma Garcia (Robert Medrano) (Las Cruces, NM), and nieces, grandnephews, great-grandchildren, loving cousins and caring friends.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Hector Joseph Garcia and his granddaughter Natasha Nicole Arvizu.

A funeral service is scheduled on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Our Lord of Mercy Catholic Church, located at 117 Hartman Street, Hatch, NM. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 9:30 A.M., followed by Mass at 10:00 A.M. Inurnment and Rite of Committal will conclude at Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Ernest Arvizu, Primo Banegas, Mario Torres, David Trujillo, Danny Castillo and Andy Torres.
