Obituary

Albert Ramon Sanchez, 65, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025, at Mesilla Valley Hospice. We know that he is dancing with the angels in Heaven. He was born on June 5, 1960, in Las Cruces to Carlota and Manuel Sanchez, Albert lived a life marked by quiet strength, dedication, and deep love for his family.

Albert worked as a Custodian (or Commodian as he liked to call it). His work ethic and humility touched many lives, and his gentle spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Albert was quite the "jokester" and liked saying "I'm just joking" followed by a boisterous laugh. Once he got to know you, he would call you "Munster".

Albert is survived by his devoted wife, JoAnn Mendoza, who took care of him through his lengthy illness. The legacy he leaves behind is through his son Albert Sanchez Jr., his daughter Sharlette Sanchez, and his granddaughter Klemmentine Trevino, as well as his stepsons Joshua Mendoza, and Jeremiah Mendoza.  He is survived by his siblings, Tony Sanchez (Tish), Patricia Sanchez, Eddie Sanchez (Merlinda), and David Sanchez (Yvonne). He leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Carlota Sanchez, his first wife and mother of his children Nadine Armijo Sanchez, as well as his stepson Joseph Mendoza.

Albert's memory will be honored at a Celebration of Life ceremony that is to be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Calvary Chapel of Las Cruces, 139 S Main St,575-524-0985. Pastor Jay Wisner will officiate the celebration service. A private interment will take place at a later date.  Albert's legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends. His kindness, loyalty, and quiet wisdom will be deeply missed.
