Obituary

ALBERT H. LUJAN, of Las Cruces entered eternal life on Monday, October 6, 2025, at the Hospitals of Providence Transmountain, surrounded by his devoted family, at the age of 92. Born September 10, 1933, in Santa Fe, NM.  Albert was the cherished son of Luis and Cleotilde Lujan. He served his country honorably in the United States Army, with pride and dedication.

Albert dedicated his professional life to the Railroad, serving 43 years as a Telegraphic Operator until his well-earned retirement. A man of quiet strength and deep faith, he was a lifelong member of the Roman Catholic Church, finding comfort and community in its traditions.

Albert was preceded in death by his loving parents; his beloved wife, Minnie Ontiveros Lujan, with whom he shared a lifetime of love until her passing in 2017; his sister, Eliria Roybal; a brother, Carlos Lujan; and his son-in-law, Keven Groenewold.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and family: his son, Albert James Lujan (companion, Delfina Garcia) of Las Cruces; four daughters, Alice Ortega (Robert) of Rio Rancho, Barbara Lujan and Evelyn Marquez (Ernest), all of Las Cruces, and Yolanda Groenewold of Santa Fe; his brother, Rosendo Lujan; and three sisters, Mary Ann Trujillo, Carmen Lujan, and Lucy Garcia (Robert), all of Santa Fe.

Albert was a proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, and was adored by numerous nieces and nephews. His presence was a steady anchor in the lives of many, and his memory will continue to guide and inspire those who knew him.

Albert's life was a testament to faith, family, and quiet service. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
